“My fiancé and I had an amazing time on the snorkeling and swimming with sea turtles charter that The Captain took us on during our very first visit to Harbour Island, Bahamas. The Captain was very friendly and knew the best spots to take us to for snorkeling. We swam along a beautiful reef with amazing coral, and a variety of fish in all different colors. He was super helpful when we swam with the sea turtles by showing us how to feed them with the bait he supplied as part of the charter and how to pet them. We really enjoyed getting to experience the Bahamas first-hand with such a friendly and knowledgeable local fisherman and Captain. We would definitely recommend booking a charter with the Sea Beyond the Shore for a fun-filled, relaxing afternoon.”

"My husband and I had the best experience with the Captain and his partner. We came to Harbor Island after visiting friends in Nassau and wanted to have a true Bahamian experience. But we didn't know the joke was on us. Before meeting Jessie, we struggled to find anyone who could take us out on a boat tour in the harbor. All of the big companies made all these promises, but they seem to only want to focus on the touristy things they thought most people wanted to do like swim with the pigs. But my husband and I who are long time fisherman had one goal in mind - to catch dinner. After trying to work with another local company who rescheduled us, gave us the runaround, and then was over an hour and a half late in meeting us on the day they finally agreed (with a boat that was broken), my husband and I felt like this Bahamian experience was never going to happen. A few days before we had met Jessie at a local restaurant.  She became a wonderful friend from our first conversation. On the morning of our supposed boat ride, she called to ask if we had made it out on the boat okay. I told her the story about how we still haven't gone out an hour and a half after we were supposed to, and she immediately went to solving the problem for us. In no time at all, we were on the boat with her Captain and Jessie decided to join us for the fun. When I say we had a true Bahamian experience, I mean it. I'm so glad we didn't do any of the touristy things and the Captain being a native to the island knew exactly where to take us to catch amazing fish using the traditional hand line method. He showed us how to catch them like a local as we laughed and chatted about life and traveling.  We even got to dive for our own conch! We caught Dinner within the first half of our cruise, and had plenty of time to spare. So the Captain decided to take us to feed the loggerhead sea turtles. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Not only because it was a surprise addition to the trip and because we caught our goal of dinner that night, but because we had such a wonderful time and felt like good friends with Jessie and her Captain by the end of the boat ride. We got back to the dock right at sunset, and the Captain still took the time to clean all our fish for us and fillet it in such a way that we could cook it in our Airbnb that night. He even gave us an anatomy lesson on the conch itself showed us how to eat it raw and then using his own native recipe made us fresh raw conch salad. So yummy.!! This was definitely the trip of a lifetime, and ending our vacation with this experience with Jessie and her Captain made it that much even more memorable.  I feel like we have new friends forever and I can't wait to go back and hang out with them again! Thank you guys for being so accommodating, excepting our last-minute reservation, and taking us to see the island in a truly unique way!"
